Models in that size are becoming a little more rare, so what are your recommendations and where to buy?

I was leaning towards the Falken Ziex 912. I can get that one for $85/tire + $40 for installation/balancing on alloy wheels.

I find that those Falken Ziex's only last about a year, driving normally. Everytime i hear someone that buys them, they complain that they suck when they put them on in the spring, and always say " i just got these last year".

Plus the tread pattern seems to be too straight. they hydroplane as well.

I'd aim towards a uniroyal, or Goodyear. They have GoodYear America Eagles at Wal-mart for a good price. I've run those and they are a prety good tire with good life for the price.

If the price is more important than the brand and you mainly need something that rolls then I got the Nexen tires from Walmart at 54 bucks each and installed for 32 bucks. I wasn't sure how they would fair out because they were so cheap but I talked to a couple mechanics and they said they deal with them all the time and they are decent.

The StarSpecs are the tire to beat for "street" tires in autox.

Think of them as the new Falken Azenis.

They'll wear fast but stick like glue.

Just to update on this, I bought the Star Spec. Even if they wear out fast, I don’t drive the car enough to really make a difference. They do stick like glue and since the sidewalls are quite high, they are more comfortable than the 195/50/15 they replace.
