 Volksfest Part two
So the rumors have been around for a while and with the latest post I guess I might as well let everyone known what has been going on.
It is true that Volkfest and the organizers have decided to hang up their hats and no longer promote the show.
I went and offered to take over the show and that offer was accepted.
Volksfest will continue but with a new direction.
Here is what I am asking for this year.
I need 5-6 volunteers to help out at the registration booth. It is early morning and the free entrance.
Next Wed there will be a spot plug about Volksfest on the A channel (breakfast tv) I would like to have one air cooled car and one late modeled water cooled car there. Can anyone make it?
With everything happening I need someone to lead the cruise because I will be in embrum from 8am to the end of the show. Can someone step up please

Lepton wrote: What are the details of the registration booth volunteering? Not much really. Hang out at the booth and pass out registration papers, info pack and a goody bag. At the beginning of the show there will be a lot of work handing the stuff out and getting as many cars in a quickly as possible. Once that calms down, having enough people to rotate one person at the entrance while everyone else can enjoy the show is key. That way everyone get great opportunity to stretch their legs and walk around the show. While having a "duty" of 20min to 1/2 hour at the entrance.

Congrats on the new challenge, however, i do suggest you get in way earlier than that. People start coming in at 7 am. Not to mention: - DJ - BBQ team - Volunteers need to start setting up bags - Vendors (well, not really vendors, but memers that usually set up shop early)

The original owners will be at the show earlier than me and my guys. The Dj will be late and the BBQ team is indepentant of the show. Bags are packed up the night before. This year we are just assisting with the Show. Next year I will be having a BBQ and camp out down the street at my mothers country home.

 Re: Volksfest Part two
Oo I can look after starting the Dj stuff before 9am tho. Bigups to 5star for plugging me up with a gazebo and table to deploy equipment. Me and 13 other Djs will be playing a selection of dubstep, drum and bass, breaks, electro and house all day.

The bulk of the people get the between 10am and 12 noon.

 Re: Volksfest Part two
congrats on the endeavor.
p.s. can you make goody bags that don't actually suck? 99.5% of the time they're filled with junk.

 Re: Volksfest Part two
Thank-you for taking over the show. It would be a shame for there not to be a VW show in the Ottawa area. Will it still be called Volksfest and held in Embrun? Any other new ideas for the 2011 show?

Right on! I'd love to lend you a hand but I'm gonna go see a different Beatle in Toronto that weekend, the kind that sings.
